DECCO is proud to announce that it has received two Excellence in Construction Merit Awards for its work on the Can-One USA’s Project Gulf Can – Line 1 Piping Install in Nashua, NH. The awards were presented by the Massachusetts and New Hampshire/Vermont Chapters of Associated Builders & Contractors (ABC) at separate ceremonies. These awards highlight DECCO’s exceptional contributions to the state-of-the-art facility, which will produce more than 2 billion aluminum cans annually for a wide range of beverages, including soft drinks and sparkling water. DECCO was contracted by Western Industrial Contractors, a general contractor based in Colorado, to manage the piping fabrication and installation for the project.
The Can-One project presented a significant challenge, as much of the equipment had been stored in Dubai for over 15 years and required restoration. DECCO played a critical role in overseeing the setup of the equipment for soluble oil and high-compressed air. The project involved 26,000+ work hours over 48 weeks, and DECCO’s team proudly completed the work without any safety incidents. Despite the complexity and size of the project, DECCO delivered it on time and according to schedule.
The project involved the installation of more than 15,000 feet of pipe, ranging in size from ¾ inch to 12 inches. DECCO’s skilled team handled the pipe hanging and welding, ensuring everything was installed to the highest standards. A standout feature of the Can-One project was its sustainability focus, as all oil used in the can body-making process was collected, cleaned, and recirculated, minimizing waste and promoting continuous reuse.

Receiving the Excellence in Construction Merit Award for this project at both the ABC NH/VT Chapter and Massachusetts Chapter’s Excellence in Construction Award events was a notable achievement for DECCO. The Merit Award is reserved for work that stands above the rest. It recognizes overall excellence in project execution, craftsmanship, safety, innovative elements and challenges, and client satisfaction.
